Lady Bucs Look to Stop the Charging SpartansThe Lady Spartans of USC Upstate entered the 2007-08 as an NCAA Division-I program in the Atlantic Sun Conference after competing at the Division 2 level since the women’s basketball program began in the1974-75 season. As a D-II program the Spartans made it to the NCAA Tournament 4 times. In their first season at the D-I ranks the Lady Spartans struggled finishing their 2007-08 seaosn with a 5-24 mark and 1-13 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

THE GAME
The Buccaneers take on The College of Charleston Cougars in a home game that will be contested at the North Charleston Coliseum. The matchup of cross-town rivals will be the 70th in the all-time series. The Bucs have played more games against CofC than any other opponent in program history. The Cougars currently hold the advantage over the Bucs with a record of 46-23. The Cougars have won 24 of the last 26 meetings, however Barclay Radebaugh has led the Bucs to both of those victories in his three seasons as the Bucs’ head coach. CofC claimed last year’s meeting, 79-70.

The Buccaneers and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers continue their Big South tradition of matching up in their final game of the season. Saturday’s meeting will mark the sixth consecutive season that Coastal Carolina has been the final opponent for CSU. It is also the sixth overall meeting, with CCU holding a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Bucs lone victory came in their final game of the 2005 season, when they prevailed 34-27, securing part of their only Big South Conference title.
Volleyball | November 18
Charleston S.C. – Charleston Southern Volleyball has qualified for postseason play and will be entering the Big South Tournament as the sixth seed. The Lady Bucs will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (25-8, 13-3) on Friday November, 21st at 2:30 p.m. CSU lost two matches with Coastal Carolina during the regular season, but was able to push them to four games in a tight contest at home.
