2010: 2010 Big South 2nd team All-Conference... Big South Pitcher of the Week (March 15 and March 29)… College Baseball Foundation National All-Star Line-up (March 15)… Was one of Charleston Southern’s top two-way standouts… Started 12 games on the mound, posting a 5-4 record and a 4.14 ERA… Notched CSU’s first win of the season on February 21 against VCU, striking out 10 batter sin six innings… Took down Holy Cross on March 6, fanning six batters in 6.2 innings… Scored the biggest victory of the season on March 14, going the distance in a 6-3 win over 6th-ranked Florida… Struck out 11 in the game, while allowing three runs on seven hits… Tossed 158 pitches in the Florida game… Came back on March 27 to score a win over VMI, 1-0… Threw eight shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11… Gained his last win of the season on April 3 vs. Radford, allowing three runs in six innings… Threw eight shutout innings on April 10 against Winthrop, striking out six and leaving with a 1-0 lead… Tossed a complete game on May 15 against UNC Asheville… Finished the year with a solid outing on May 21 against High Point, allowing just two unearned runs in seven innings… Let the game with a 7-2 lead… Also played in 39 games as a position player, batting .252 with seven home runs and 18 RBI… Finished the season with 24 career home runs, fourth most in CSU history… Hit his first home run of the season on February 20 against VCU… Hit his 20th career homer on February 28 against Virginia Tech… Had a sacrifice fly on March 14 against Florida, the same game where he was the winning pitcher… Homered in each of the first two games of the Winthrop series… Scored 20 runs and stole two bases… Tallied seven multi-hit games.

2009: A dynamic player for the Bucs, who started all 53 games in right field and appeared 16 times on the mound… longest hitting streak of the season was nine games…  tied program record for homers in a single game with three against Furman on April 22… hit four homers in three consecutive games, on his way to leading the team with a total of 12 for the season… tied program record for runs scored in a game with five and broke record for RBI with eight at High Point on April 11… tied program record for at-bats with seven at Auburn on March 17… second on team in hits with 62, first in doubles (16), runs (40), at bats (212), RBI (49), and total bases (116)… finished season with a .547 slugging percentage… tallied a 4-4 record on the mound, while holding the second lowest era at 3.73… longest outing of the season against Marist on February 28 against Marist… tallied a season high six strikeouts in 3.0 innings against Savannah State on May 12.

2008: Did a little bit of everything for the Buccaneers as a freshman ... started all 40 in the field and made 14 appearances on the mound ... finished the season with a .276 batting average, recording 40 hits in 145 at-bats ... tied for third on the team with 11 doubles and also belted five home runs, tied for the fourth-most on the squad ... drove in 24 runs ... drew 12 walks and was hit by a pitch, giving the freshman a .331 on-base percentage ... was successful in his only stolen base attempt ... went 2-for-5 against Richmond on March 14, hitting a double and a home run while racking up a career-high five RBI ... made 11 starts on the mound for the Bucs, finishing the season with a 7.04 earned run average ... his 55 strikeouts ranked second on the team, recording them over just 53 and two-third innings ... held opponents to a .298 batting average against ... tossed a complete-game shutout against Presbyterian on March 22 ... allowed five hits and walked a pair while striking out a career-high 10 batters for his second win of the season ... finished the year with a 2-5 record.

High School: Letter three years at Riverwood HS under coach Mike Santoro ... was a two-way star his senior season ... posted a .551 batting average with 10 home runs, 55 RBI and a 1.275 slugging percentage at the plate ... went 7-2 with a 1.89 ERA, recording 86 strike outs in 62 innings on the mound ... named team MVP his senior season ... earned the varsity Hitman award, given to the best offensive player, in his final season ... pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts and went 3-4 with three RBI at the plate to lead Riverwood to a victory over the defending state champs.

Personal: Born September 29, 1988 in Houston, Texas ... son of Mike and Dottye Thornburg ... his favorite thing about CSU is the people ... came to CSU because of the coaches and the Christian environment ... his greastest moment in sports was defeating the defending state champs on their field ... mother, Dottye, was a Junior Olympic swimmer ... uncle played basketball at Western Carolina.
