Giardina joined the CSU staff for the 2008 season after spending time coaching under Mike Shula and Nick Saban at Alabama.
After finishing his football career at the University of Alabama, Giardina spent four seasons coaching with the Tide. He started out as a student assistant, assisting with the special teams, and coaching the kickers and punters.
As a graduate assistant, Giardina helped with the video aspects of scouting, also helping with scout team meetings and practices. His final two seasons were along the offensive line and scout teams, helping Andre Smith and Antoine Caldwell each earn All-SEC honors, and Smith earn freshman All-America honors.
Giardina is married to the former Wimberly Edwards.
