ORLANDO, FLA - The Charleston Southern softball team wrapped up play at the SpaceU Classic on Sunday, falling 7-0 to the Penn State Nittany Lions and 5-1 to the UCF Knights. Each of the programs entered the week receiving votes in multiple national polls for the top 25 rankings.

GAME ONE

Penn State tallied their first of the day in the second inning and went on to score four in the fourth and another two in the fifth to claim the 7-0 victory.

Charleston Southern recorded the first hit of the game for either team with a single to right field by Emily Chandler in the top of the second.

Kinsey Clopton got the start in the circle for the Bucs, throwing one inning allowing one run and no hits. Brenna Conley came in to throw five innings with two strike outs and allowed just two earned runs to the Power 4 opponent.

GAME TWO

The Bucs struck first in the first inning. Blakley Kingsmore reached on a single and advanced to third before Charlee Yourman drove her in with a single to right field, giving the Bucs an early 1-0 lead.
