CLEMSON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern softball team saw their six-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, as they were shut out twice by the Clemson Tigers 7-0 and 12-0 at McWhorter Stadium.
Game One
Riley Lauffer threw all 6.0 innings for the Buccaneers (9-9) allowing all seven runs on 11 hits with five walks and one strikeout. Charleston Southern mustered just two hits, as the Tigers scored two in the first with five singles and sent eight batters to the plate. Lauffer fell to 4-2 on the season.
Game Two
Kinsey Clopton started for the Buccaneers going 1.2 innings allowing 10 runs, five hits and seven walks. She fell to 3-4 on the season.
Mackenzie Rutkoff threw the final 2.1 innings, as the Tigers were able to take this one in four innings.
On Deck
The Buccaneers will have a six-day break before hosting the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers next Tuesday, Mar. 11 at 5:00 PM. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
