ATHENS, Ga. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team fell 52-97 to the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs Monday afternoon in Stegeman Coliseum.
Charleston Southern opened the game with strong energy, connecting on three triples in the opening 10 minutes and keeping pace early. Georgia responded with efficient shooting and second-chance opportunities, closing the quarter on a 10-3 run to take a 24-15 lead. The Bulldogs shot 55.6 percent in the period, while CSU stayed within striking distance.

Georgia took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Buccaneers 25-9. The Bulldogs capitalized on turnovers and dominated the interior, building a 49-24 halftime advantage. Charleston Southern struggled to find consistent rhythm offensively during the stretch, while Georgia's bench and transition play widened the gap before the break.

The Buccaneers regrouped coming out of halftime and showed improved perimeter efficiency, knocking down three three-pointers in the quarter. Georgia continued to apply pressure, however, shooting better than 55 percent and using a 13-point scoring run to extend the lead. CSU was outscored 23-12 in the period, entering the fourth down 72-36.

Charleston Southern finished the game with its best offensive quarter, scoring 16 points and matching Georgia's intensity for stretches. The Buccaneers continued to attack, but Georgia answered with efficient shooting and depth scoring to close out the 97-52 victory.
