Buccaneers Fall on the Road to Radford

RADFORD, Va. – The Charleston Southern women's soccer team battled for 90 minutes, but came up short against first-place Radford, falling 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Cupp Stadium.

The Highlanders took the lead midway through the first half when Lilly Short converted a pass from Jillian Silverstone in the 26th minute. Radford doubled its advantage early in the second half as Paige Olson scored in the 60th minute. Olson took a penalty kick that was blocked by CSU goalkeeper Avery Mason, but Olson capitalized on the rebound to extend Radford's lead.

CSU generated four shots on the day, with Sedona Dancu and Jenéa Knight each putting shots on target, but Radford goalkeeper Lexi Radvanyi made two saves to keep the clean sheet.
