SAVANNAH - The Charleston Southern Women's Golf team recently showcased their skills at the Southern, hosted by Georgia Southern University, where they secured a strong 7th place finish. Competing against a field of some of the most talented teams in the region, the Buccaneers navigated the challenging course, which featured a par of 72, with determination and resilience.
Katie Stephens had a commendable performance, finishing tied for 18th place with a total of 13-over par. She remained consistent throughout the tournament and closed with a strong showing. She delivered a solid second-round score of 74, building on that momentum to finish on a high note with a 76 in the final round.
Odette Font also made a significant contribution to the team's overall success, finishing tied for 24th at 16-over par. She started the tournament with an impressive first-round score of 77 and wrapped up her performance on with a steady 76 in the third and final round.
Eugenie Varet had a solid outing as well, tying for 30th place at 17-over par for the tournament. Her consistent play was evident as she shot back-to-back rounds of 77 in the final two rounds.
Also competed for the Bucs were Isabella Galla who carded the team's low round in the first with her score of 76. At the end of the event she had a final score of +20. Chayse Cool rounded out the team's lineup with a total score of 266.
Each of these performances contributed to Charleston Southern's solid overall showing at the Georgia Southern Invitational. The Buccaneers will be back on the course in two weeks for the Mercer Invitational in Forsyth, Georgia which will be hosted from Monday, October 28 through Tuesday, October 29.
