Opening Tip
• Charleston Southern heads from the Holy City to the Queen City for this week's Hercules Tires Big South Championships, which will be played on a neutral court inside Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
• The Buccaneers last won a league tournament game in 2019 -- no event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic -- when they reached the semifinals after knocking off USC Upstate (67-52) in the first round and High Point (65-61) in the quarterfinals on the Panthers' home floor.
Â
• Charleston Southern and High Point are meeting for the third time in the last-five games, as the two-game regular-season series was in back-to-back contests, Feb. 17 and 19. The Feb. 17 game was a rescheduled date from the originally slated Jan. 1, lining up the two sides in the short span.
Â
• Head coach
Clarisse Garcia is in her first season with the Bucs program. Tuesday's tip will mark her first in a conference tournament on the NCAA Division I level, as her two-year stint (2010-11, 2011-12) at Palm Beach Atlantic saw the Sailfish play in Division II.
