Godfrey’s season high leads Bucs Saturday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Senior Sharita Godfrey made both of her 3-point attempts among a season-best 16 points but the Charleston Southern women's basketball team was unable to overcome a wire-to-wire victory for host Campbell Saturday afternoon, as the Camels picked up the 63-52 Big South triumph inside Gore Arena.

GODFREY LEADS THE SCORING
An all-around stat-sheet stuffing performance by Godfrey led the way for the Buccaneers, as she tallied her fourth double-digit scoring contest of the campaign and the 26th of her career with 16 points on 6-of-11 field goals, including both from behind the 3-point arc, to go with 2-of-2 at the foul line. She also grabbed a game-high tying eight boards.

TWO WITH A DOZEN
She was joined in double figures by two others, who each netted a dozen points on a combined 8-of-13. Skylar Baltezegar missed just two shots on her way to 12 points to go along with eight rebounds to match Godfrey on the boards and two assists, while Tori Gittens provide another deep threat with her pair from long distance to give Charleston Southern (2-21, 2-10 Big South) a trio of starters reaching the plateau.

SHORT BENCH
The Bucs battled league-leading Campbell (18-5, 12-2 Big South) to the end despite playing just two players off the bench, Sha'Mya Leigh and Makenna Winans. Those two combined for seven points, four rebounds and two assists.

REBOUNDING BATTLE TO CSU
Behind two efforts of eight boards each by Godfrey and Baltezegar, the Buccaneers won the rebounding totals, 28-to-26. It's just the seventh time this season in which Charleston Southern captured the battle on the glass.

UP NEXT
The Buccaneers return home to their home hardwood for a pair of games this week, starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Winthrop. CSU will also play host to High Point at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in a make up contest from earlier in the season.
