BUCS FINISH SIXTH AT WINDY WKU KENNY PERRY INVITATIONAL

BOWLING GREEN, KY. - Choo Teck Ng led the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on the final day and Jarrett Swan finished in the top 10 as CSU finished sixth overall in the team standings at the WKU Kenny Perry Invitational hosted at The Club at Olde Stone.

Ng was the lone CSU golfer to shoot in the 70s on the final day for head coach Mike Wilson as tournament conditions continued to play a factor on the course with winds holding all golfers over par for the second time in three days as more than half the field shot in the 80s over the final 18 holes. The sophomore carded a final round 78 to finish the tournament with a 242, tying for 24th overall.

Charleston Southern finished four strokes behind tournament host Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers claimed the fifth spot with a score of 965. Jacksonville State claimed top team honors with a final score of 928, while Louisville finished two strokes back in second, while Austin Peay State was five strokes off the lead in third place.

Swan continued to lead the CSU golf team, remaining in tournament contention until then end before finishing the final round with an 80 as the sophomore placed eighth overall on the course, finishing with a 233 for the three rounds.

Junior Ross Thomson followed rounds of 82-78 with a final round 83 to tie for 28th overall, while freshman Nicolas Baena carded scores of 81-88-82 on the tournament to finish tied for 46th overall with a 251 on the course.

Junior Jason Fick rounded out the group on the course for the Bucs, finishing with his best round of the tournament in carding an 83 to finish in sole possession of 58th.

Charlie Bull won medalist honors at the tournament finishing with a score of 225 (+9) in leading Akron to a fourth place team finish.

Charleston Southern returns to the links on Sunday, October 28th, when CSU hosts the three-day Wendy’s Kiawah Classic at the Turtle Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island, S.C.
