Bucs tie for seventh at Dash Thomas Memorial; Thomson earns All-Tournament honors

BOISE, IDAHO - Ross Thomson closed out the Dash Thomas Memorial tournament hosted by Boise State University with his lowest round of the week to land on the All-Tournament team in leading Charleston Southern to a seventh place finish at The Club at Spurwig.

Thomson finished the final 18 holes with a 67 on the course, four-under par for the day to close out the weekend tied for third overall in earning All-Tournament honors. The redshirt junior from Marietta, Ga. led Charleston Southern to their lowest round of the week as CSU finished with a 284 on the final day, finishing with an 871 to tie with Utah State over the three-round tournament.

Washington State took home the team title in the tournament with a score of 843, while Utah Valley finished second with an 849. San Jose State rounded out the top three, finishing one stroke behind Utah Valley at 850.

Jarrett Swan also recorded his lowest round of the weekend on the final day, carding a 69, two-under par to finish tied for 26th overall. The Mt. Pleasant, S.C. sophomore recorded a 76-71 over the first two rounds to close out the tournament with a 216, 3-over on the week.

Freshman Nicolas Baena closed out the tournament with a final round 68, three-under par to finish one stroke back of Swan in a tie for 28th overall. He opened the tournament with a 75 over the first round and 74 over the second 18 holes to finish with a 217.

C.J. Liner finished the tournament tied for 60th overall, carding 230 on the weekend, while Jason Fick tied for 67th under head coach Mike Wilson to round out the Buccaneers on the course.

Charleston Southern remains on the road as they travel to Daufauskie Island, S.C. to take part in the Rees Jones Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Carolina. First round play begins on October 1st at Haig Point.
