CSU Women's Golf Concludes First Tournament

CHARLESTON S.C. – The CSU women’s golf team concluded their first outing of the year. The Bucs were taking part in the Cougar Classic hosted by College of Charleston at Yeaman’s Hall Golf Club in Hanahan, S.C. The Bucs were competing against an extremely talented field that included UNC, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Ole Miss just to mention a few.

The Bucs entered the day in 21st overall after posting combined scores of 322 and 315 on the first two days. The Bucs shot a combined score of 329 in the final round.

Leading the way for the Bucs was sophomore Amanda D'Ostroph who turned in scores of 78, 78, and 77 over the course of the tournament for a total of 233. She finished in a tie for 77th place.

Freshmen Torey Johnson and Jordan Hollinshead both finished in the top 100. Johnson carded scores of 77, 80, and 83 for a total of 240. Hollinshead’s scores over three rounds were 81, 75, and 85 for a total of 241. Sophomore Katelyn Bensch tallied scores of 86, 86, and 84 for a total of 256. Elise Trebaol shot scores of 89, 82, 90 for a total of 261.

The Bucs finished 21st overall as a team with a combined score of 966.

The next tournament on the schedule for the Bucs is the Great Smokies Intercollegiate Tournament being held in Waynesville, N.C. starting Sep.18.
