CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern University women’s golf team will begin their 2009 fall campaign Sunday at the 2009 Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston. The tournament is the first in the CSU career for new head coach Kory Thompson. The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. The host course, Yeamens Hall Golf Club in Hanahan, S.C., is a par 72 layout measured at 6,211 yards. Fans can follow live hole-by-hole scoring throughout the tournament at www.golfstatresults.com. The Lady Bucs will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Joining CSU and College of Charleston in the field are Florida State University, Furman University, the University of Georgia, The University of Maryland, Miami (Fla.) University, the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, the University of Richmond, the University of South Florida, the University of Tennessee, the University of Texas, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Vanderbilt University and the University of Wisconsin. Led by 2009 Big South Co-Golfer of the Year Olivia Jordan-Higgins, the Bucs finished second at the 2009 Big South Championship. |
